Good Morning Darlings!
I love a fun night out with the girls. It has kind of taken me a long time to come around to this idea. Eric and I are just crazy for each other, but even oh-so-in-love couples need guys and girls time with their buddies.
Adorable Tami Reed of Talking With Tami recently invited me to a Girls’ Night Out sponsored by O.P.I. nail polish – you know them – with their scads of colors and adorable color names (“I’m Not A Waitress” comes to mind), well, I knew I could not say no. Plus it was held at Pampered Nail and Body Spa (341 Nelson Street Southwest Atlanta, GA 30313; 404-521-2873), just minutes from my house. Really, this event was calling my name.
O.P.I. has rolled out with an entire line of polish inspired by the soon-to-be-released movie Burlesque, starring world famous glamour girls Cher and Christina Aguilera. You will find me in the theatre Thanksgiving weekend when it opens. Can’t wait!
But anyhoo, back to our evening. Tami always does it big and always does it right. This night was no different. Co-sponsored by Barefoot Wines, there was pink champagne on offer, as Tami is about everything pink and girly. And there were incredible folks to meet, as always.
Yolanda, owner of Pampered Nail and creator of her own line of skin goodies, IWI, welcomed us all with open arms. Her all-organic scrubs and lotions could become a serious addiction for me. I scooped up a jar of the luscious pumpkin scrub to take home and it was all I could do to keep from slathering the entire contents on myself the next day in the shower. It smells amazing and my skin was baby soft afterwards. You must stop by and meet her. Must. Promise me.
The spa is treat for the senses. Sparkling chandeliers, a calming Buddha fountain and seating that puts you in mind of the sea. I could just move in there and be happy. Especially if Miss Nikki was on hand to feed me her scrumptious cake balls. The red velvet surprised and delighted me.
And as with every Tami soiree, I met fabulous people. First up, Donna from Brown Girl Next Door, who has the coolest blog ever. We discussed the nail colors and what was going on with each other. Love her.
And you know, it’s never too early to learn about beauty. Take a look at these future fashionistas.
I met Wendy from Plush Boutique (some of the most gorgeous stuff for curvy girls), sexy and sassy Veronica of Veronica Unleashed, whose blog is for adults only, but so fabulous. My pedicure partner for the evening was the darling Aimee, also known as The Coupon Diva, who shared money saving tips with me (and who doensn’t need that?)
There was Julian, Editor-In-Chief of the wildly successful magazine, Kontrol. You have got to check them out – look at Lil’ Kim! WOW!
Tami and I had a chance to visit and catch up. She is hosting the red carpet for the upcoming Legacy of the Legend here in Atlanta. I tell you, that girl is everywhere!
It was a wonderful evening of pedicures, manicures, laughs and new friends. Even my buddy Patricia Tinsley, stopped in for a polish and we popped next door afterwards to see my friend Nora, at her fab shop, The Wine Shoe, where we sipped some lovely vintages and visited.
Thanks so much to Tami for inviting me, for Yolanda and her fab staff for their incredible hospitality, O.P.I. for to-die-for colors, and Miss Nikki for those sinful cake balls.
xoxo, Patti
