Just Chicken Salad

Monday, October 3rd, 2011

Good Morning Darlings!

Let me start by saying I consider myself to be a chicken salad connoisseur. I love pretty much any chicken salad. My dill chicken salad is thought to be a winner among my friends.

Do you love chicken salad, too? Come on in.

Cinco feliz de Mayo

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

Good Morning Darlings!

It’s Cinco de Mayo! Hooray! It’s that fabulous holiday where we celebrate Mexican Independence Day! Time to grind the masa for tamales and make some luscious tequila beverages.

Setting the table with a gorgeous pinata centerpiece would really set the mood. Don’t worry about filling it, this one is just for show. Cover the table with your brightest yellow cloth and place napkins of red and blue out for your guests. That should make everyone feel festive.

I like this guy!

And how about those drinks? Lets see what we can whip up, shall we?

Come on in for some tasty libations!

Images of Spring

Good Morning Darlings!

I was out partying ALL day yesterday. Such fun but all that fun has me depleted. So I am going to grace the pages today with some fun photos of things making me smile on this fine, spring day.

Enjoy!

Ooh! Pictures!

St. Patti’s Day! What Are We Imbibing?

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

Good Morning Darlings!

You are all now familiar with my friend Esther in NYC. Esther just sent me a fun recipe for tonight. It covers all the requirements: 1. Easy to make. 2. Easy to drink. 3. It’s green.

What’s new Esther??
What is Esther mixing up?

Swooning for Swoozie’s

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

Good Morning Darlings!

Today is a very special day for me! I am so excited to let you know that Swoozie’s has chosen me to be one of their party experts in conjunction with their 10th birthday. And to celebrate, there will a party tonight at their 4285 Roswell Rd, Chastain Square, location from 6-8pm.

Please come out and give me a hug (free!) and shop (20% off!) and clink glasses with me over a cocktail (or two). I have selected 10 of Swoozie’s fabulous items for a themed party, which will be revealed tomorrow night. Let’s talk entertaining, celebrations or how to make every day a party for you and your favorites.

It would mean the world to me to see you there. Swoozie’s party treats are most posh way to throw a bash. And yes, I knew that even before they put a party princess tiara on my head.

Join me? It is going to be Swoozierific!

xoxo, Patti

Byron and Michelle’s Engagement Party

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

Good Morning Darlings!

Love love love is in the air. Jay and Valerie will be tripping up the altar in September, but beating them to the vows will be Byron and Michelle in April. Our delightful friends Stephanie & Reeves threw the most lovely party for our betrothed friends last weekend in their comfy, cozy home in our neighborhood. They even keep chickens – remember the eggs from the morning after Valentine’s Day? Their home is filled with cuddly furniture and whimsical treats – like the painting of Rod Stewart dressed as a Storm Trooper, or the wig on the horse mask which would become the center of the party later in the evening.

The sweet guests of honor

Stephanie went all out – there were boodles of shrimp, tons of brownies, yummy spinach dip and tasty bruschetta. Delicious!

Stephanie knows what she is doing!

Perfect strawberries for dipping.

The weather was terrific, too, so we were able to enjoy part of the evening on the deck, viewing the chickens and checking out their fab view of the Atlanta skyline.

But inside was where most of the fun took place. Take a peek.
See what happens next!

Super Bowl, Super Snacks, Super Friends

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Good Morning Darlings!

Ok, I’m all refreshed after taking the day after Super Bowl to tidy up and plan what I am going to do with the leftovers. I thought you might enjoy seeing how we celebrated.
Join our party!

FFF-Are You Ready For Some Football?

Friday, February 4th, 2011

Good Morning Darlings!

Whooo Hooo! It is Super Bowl Weekend! Second only to Christmas and the Academy Awards (Feb. 27, if you were wondering). The most fun time for everyone to get together, eat, drink and holler at the television.

Everyone is coming to our house this year and we have asked everyone to bring an appetizer to share and some booze. You need booze for a good Super Bowl party. Just ask Don Draper.

Or, you could ask our resident NYC party-girl-about-town, Esther, who is always coming up with the tastiest cocktails. This time they are hilariously named after players from both the Packers and the Steelers. Just in time for Sunday.

If you live in Georgia, please remember to buy your libations on Saturday. When are they going to lift these blue laws already?

Whip up some cocktails with me inside!

Guest Post – Dr. Seuss Baby Shower

Monday, January 31st, 2011

Good Morning Darlings!

Today I am handing over the reins to my sweet friend, Arlynn, who loves giving parties as much as I do! She created a baby shower around a Dr. Seuss theme, which I think is just adorable.

Please help me welcome Arlynn! Take it away!

I have a confession to make here on Anatomy of a Dinner Party (ADP)… I am
a party-a-holic. Yes, there may not currently be a support group available for people
in my state of “distress,” and although my husband may wish otherwise, I’m totally
cool with it.  In fact, I’m thrilled to have such an exciting addiction – I mean, who
doesn’t love a party?!? Oh yeah, back to the Hubs. I wouldn’t go so far as to grant
him the title of Party Pooper, but he certainly doesn’t appreciate my panache for all
of the excitement generated by a nicely organized party. Especially one in which
he’s kicked out and  asked to leave our home for a few hours, ha! Lucky for you ADP
readers, sweet Patti does appreciate & that’s why she asked me to share my story of a recent Dr. Seuss themed baby shower I had the pleasure of co-hosting at my house! Lucky for me too, to be able to share with you – thanks a million P!!!

Well, this sordid tale of a Dr. Seuss baby shower fit for a soon-to-be precious
Princess all began when the Hubs and I purchased our first home. We’re OTP’ers
(out of the perimeter of Atlanta) – please don’t hold it against us – and found
ourselves to be living in the midst of lots of families with kids. Well, there was one
couple, right around our age who were, at the time, childless. Score one for crazy-
fun-young neighbors like us! Well, before long they wouldn’t find themselves
childless… Commence immediate party planning – and I’m talking before they even
have time to show us the first sonogram image.
