You are all now familiar with my friend Esther in NYC. Esther just sent me a fun recipe for tonight. It covers all the requirements: 1. Easy to make. 2. Easy to drink. 3. It’s green.
Our friend Tim in NYC sent me these great cocktail ideas just in time for Fat Tuesday. And if you can’t be in New Orleans, at least you can pretend with these luscious libations. What are you waiting for? Come on in!
Today is a very special day for me! I am so excited to let you know that Swoozie’s has chosen me to be one of their party experts in conjunction with their 10th birthday. And to celebrate, there will a party tonight at their 4285 Roswell Rd, Chastain Square, location from 6-8pm.
Please come out and give me a hug (free!) and shop (20% off!) and clink glasses with me over a cocktail (or two). I have selected 10 of Swoozie’s fabulous items for a themed party, which will be revealed tomorrow night. Let’s talk entertaining, celebrations or how to make every day a party for you and your favorites.
It would mean the world to me to see you there. Swoozie’s party treats are most posh way to throw a bash. And yes, I knew that even before they put a party princess tiara on my head.
Join me? It is going to be Swoozierific!
xoxo, Patti
Today blogging to Donna Fargo – Happiest Girl In The Whole U.S.A.
My friend Kate in NYC has some great ideas for some award winning cocktails just in time for Oscar night this Sunday. How are you spending the evening? This is like the Super Bowl to me. I love everything about Oscar day – the preshow, the red carpet, the show. I’ll be watching, will you?
Whooo Hooo! It is Super Bowl Weekend! Second only to Christmas and the Academy Awards (Feb. 27, if you were wondering). The most fun time for everyone to get together, eat, drink and holler at the television.
Everyone is coming to our house this year and we have asked everyone to bring an appetizer to share and some booze. You need booze for a good Super Bowl party. Just ask Don Draper.
Or, you could ask our resident NYC party-girl-about-town, Esther, who is always coming up with the tastiest cocktails. This time they are hilariously named after players from both the Packers and the Steelers. Just in time for Sunday.
If you live in Georgia, please remember to buy your libations on Saturday. When are they going to lift these blue laws already?
Still iced in here in Atlanta, but we have plenty of food and wine. It could be worse.
Plus, the Golden Globes are on Sunday! I love awards shows, and the Golden Globes by far is my favorite. All the stars are drinking at the event, so you have no clue what they may say in their speeches, making for a hilarious evening. Plus, you can enjoy it in your pajamas, with a drink in hand, hollering at the television set. Which I personally enjoy.
My friends in NYC, Esther and Katie, sent me these recipes for adult beverages that have 2010 movie themes. I love it! Click here for these special drinks!
I am so excited to share what my friends at The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta are up to. It is so special and fabulous!
In fact, it’s two surprises in one – at Lumen, their fantasy lobby bar.
One – for all your football fans, Lumen has created two cocktails made specifically for the Auburn/South Carolina match up this weekend. So come on by Lumen (it’s right on Peachtree Street, of course…) and sample each of these libations and decide on a winner! Both cocktails are being offered for $12 each. After the recipes, I will show you the dazzling decor you will be enjoying as you sip your beverage.
WAR EAGLE WHAMMY
2 oz Crown Royal
Splash of Triple Sec
Pineapple Juice, Sour mix, Crushed Blue Berries
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into glass filled with crushed ice.
GAMECOCK GOTCHA
2 oz Southern Comfort
1 oz Amaretto Liqueur
Splash of pomegranate juice
Splash of orange juice
Shake all ingredients with ice and pour into a highball glass.
Yum, yum, yummy! And now, when you think it could not get any cooler, may I present to you, The Ice Bar at Lumen? Oh yes, my friends, a bar made entirely of ice, with an ice luge that the vodka is poured into and ends up in your martini glass! There are also special cocktails that are being whipped up just for you. Drinks like the Cranberry Martini and the Winter Solstice.
You have got to see this, so I am offering a sneak peak right here! Right now!
All of these gorgeous photos are straight from my friends at The Ritz-Carlton. You will find me getting chilly tonight there after I attend the Pop Up Shops in Midtown.
Our friend Esther, from NYC, sent me these recipes – did you know you could bake with absinthe? Me, either! But bake you can! These treats are made with Lucid Absinthe, the first legal and legitimate absinthe sold in the United States in 95 years. This my dearies, is the real deal.
Halloween is almost here and even more fun than the candy, are the spooktastic drinks you can conjure up. Our old friend Lindsay sent us this from way up in New York City. And in honor of our dear friends Calvin and Steve, who are hosting the hot undead crew of the Vampire Diaries as they film in their downtown loft, I thought this drink was quite appropriate.
Take it away, Lindsay!
This Halloween leave a lasting mark on guests with a chic fang-tastic cocktail! Inspired by the recent vampire craze, renowned New York City Mixologist Jonathan Pogash channels the flavors and trends of the season combining festive ingredients and the alluring flavors of Corzo Tequila to elevate the entertaining experience.
Entice guests with the thrilling flavors in the Corzo Bite, a vampire inspired blood orange cocktail. Highlights include:
· Festive Colorings: Reminiscent of the crimson shades of blood
· “Bloody” Ingredients: A bloody illusion is created with ripe blood oranges and home-made red grenadine
· Bite Garnish: The strawberry syrup garnish on the glass creates and tasty vampire bite effect
CORZO Bite
1 1/2 parts Corzo Silver Tequila
1/2 parts Campari
1 part fresh blood orange juice
1/4 parts blood (aka home-made grenadine) **
2 parts Jarritos Tamarindo Soda
Process: Build all ingredients into a highball glass filled with ice. Add the “blood” at the end.
Garnish: blood orange wheel and strawberry syrup
** Home-made grenadine: Add equal parts white sugar and POM pomegranate juice together and dissolve sugar over high on stove-top. When dissolved, add several drops of orange flower water, simmer on low heat for 10 mins., chill, and serve.
** If blood oranges are not available, use a slice of regular orange that is soaking in “blood” as a garnish.
Corzo Tequila’s unique double aging, triple distillation process creates an unparalleled taste and smoothness in this cocktail.
Thanks, Lindsay!
Tomorrow we will be mixing up some trouble with absinthe (just for you, Chioke!), so stay tuned.
xoxo, Patti
