Anatomy of a Dinner Party: a day in the life of a hospitalityaholic

Hold My Place & Don’t Whine

Written by Patti on September 8th, 2011

Good Morning Darlings!

As I’m sure you do, I like to peruse the web for party ideas. I mean, the WHOLE world is out there and it is so exciting to read blogs and websites that are packed full of the exact things I love. Zombies, party tips, etiquette problems to resolve.

Check these out!

I cannot get over how easy and utterly fab these are.

I found this over at Pizzazzerie.com. Oh, who am I kidding – I always find lots of stuff to love at this incredible site. Courtney just pulls together the coolest party tidbits from everywhere and every post is a feast for the eyes.

Now where did I put my tiny chainsaw? I have some place card holders to make.

xoxo, Patti

I love making place card holders out of all sorts of things — little lady apples, tiny pumpkins, birch bark, seashells.

Here’s what I didn’t like — writing out 500 or so for charity dinners in NYC, usually the night before since that is when table buyers sent in their lists!

Oh but we had to use special place cards donated by Cartier and there is no way they would feed through a printer! Plus, the chairperson would check every card and envelope at the check-in table to make sure they were calligraphed by my own little hand.
