Fantasy Gift Guide

Written by Patti on November 29th, 2010

Good Morning Darlings!

Christmas is all about wishes. Sometimes fantastic wishes. So today, I thought I would bring you some fantasy items and offset them with similar, but less outrageous, alternatives.

For Him:
Luxury

Not quite sure what justifies this price tag....

Is the man in your life a shutterbug? How about the Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Leica M9 Camera for a mere $17,500.00? Neiman Marcus lets us press our nose to the glass to wish for these luxury gifts via their luxe website, but those with the Black Amex are able to have this piece of history delivered personally by a Leica photography expert with private instruction. But you must hurry – only 50 have been crafted.

Budget

Feel just like Ashton Kucher with the Nikon Coolpix S8100. For $299.95, this is a steal for feeling like you are living the glamorous life. Sorry, Demi Moore not included.

For Her:

Luxury

For your inner (or outer) Carrie Bradshaw

Any woman would adore donning these Manolo Blahnik fur ankle boots. I’m sure that Carrie Bradshaw would not sniff at the $1295 price tag, but if it leaves you cold, how about some…

Budget

There, isn't that better?

Uggs, the favorite of every woman. The Sheepskin Cuff Boot at $200 should make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

For the children:

Luxury

Get out the sled, kids!

Since we live in the south, snow is a total luxury. Sure we might get a dusting in February, but it is rare to see a White Christmas. But now you can, with Backyard Blizzard. For $2400, your little ones can wake up to a yard filled with real snow. This will keep them happy all day, as long as the temperatures hover around 25F.

Budget

Instasnow can give you the same feel, on a smaller scale, with a much smaller price tag (around $14.95 retail). This is perfect if you live in an apartment or condo. I tested this at a gift show this summer and loved it. This would also make a super cool decoration for around your tree or on your table. All it needs is a spritz of water every few days to keep it fresh.

For your pets:

Luxury

Try finding this after Fido buries it in the backyard.

Now I really love my dogs, but this gift is just giggle-inducing. From I Love Dogs Diamonds comes the world’s most expensive dog collar at $3,200,000. I’m not sure who their market is, but it is certainly not me. My dogs are happy with a stick.

Budget

Over at The Uncommon Dog, you can pick up a memory foam contour lounger for only $191.95. I can guarantee that this is a gift that will make your furry pal feel truly loved.

And with all the money you saved by not buying the collar, you could splurge on some fancy schmancy dog biscuits from Big Daddy Biscuits. All natural and baked into cutest shapes, you will have your dog literally eating from your hands. My dogs totally love Miss Lauren’s tasty treats!

That should give you some ideas, yes? Fun either way. Those folks at Neiman-Marcus crack me up. I would adore knowing who is ordering from that catalog and how I can get on their list?

xoxo, Patti
