Anatomy of a Dinner Party: a day in the life of a hospitalityaholic

A Dali Party

Written by Patti on August 12th, 2010

Good Morning, Darlings!

Salvadore Dali. Just the mention of his name invokes images of melting clocks, mind bending artwork and that iconic mustache.

Being able to see that fabulous artwork in person is staggering.

Being able to experience it with 4,000 other art lovers, a DJ, models resembling something from a Guillermo del Toro film, was beyond staggering.

What a night.

The multimedia exhibit at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art opened to a capacity crowd this past Saturday night and the people watching was part of the show.

Not Only Did I Love The Outdoor Lounge, But Also How The White Popped Against The Green Grass

Almost Inside! The Wait From Line To Exhibit Was 1.5 Hours!

Ok, so I didn’t love the wait, but with so many costumes, it made the time pass much quicker.

Isn't She Lovely?

The exhibit not only included photographs, sketches and paintings, there were also pieces of jewelry on display. Fabulous, unusual one of a kind pieces. Loved it.

At the end of the evening we caught up with our friend and birthday girl, Christy. A group of us decided to have nightcaps at Kevin Rathbun Steak. Always a good choice.

Birthday Girl Christy!

Christy and Me

My espresso martini was delicious. Maybe too delicious. We closed the place down.

Our group! Right before they kicked us out.

Eric and I wanted a snack, so we moseyed over to Young Augustine’s. The kitchen was closed. But not ones to waste a perfectly good trip, I had a chocolate cake shot and E enjoyed a beer. Then we made a run for the border and noshed on some Taco Bell.

Tucked in around 4 a.m. Just in time to catch a few winks, get up and cook goat the next day.

It’s a fun life.

xoxo, Patti
