Anatomy of a Dinner Party: a day in the life of a hospitalityaholic

It Can’t Be A Party Everyday

Written by Patti on January 1st, 2010

Good Morning, Darlings and Happy 2010!

Thanks for continuing to read about my dinner party adventures in 2009.  I look forward to sharing more with you in the coming year.

New Year’s Eve brought 2 invitations to fabulous parties and our own pajama party for New Year’s Day.  But alack and alas, these were not meant to be.  With all our party going, we forgot to eat right and get enough rest and by New Year’s Eve our bodies were crying, “Uncle”.  I came down with a nasty stomach bug on Tuesday and by New Year’s Eve, my sweet angel of a husband had contracted it as well.  So no fabulous party at Tami’s and no fabulous masquerade party at Wesley’s. We are still so under the weather that we even had to cancel our own neighborhood pajama party set for today.

But don’t cry for me, Argentina.  Midnight was spent in our living room, quietly dancing to “New York, New York” after watching the ball drop in Times Square.

This morning I am spending my time with you as my sweet prince, Eric, sleeps.  I am hoping this virus leaves us soon.

Sometimes it takes a shock to the body to make you realize you may have bit off more than you can chew.

Only do what makes you the happiest in 2010. I intend to do the same.

xoxo, Patti
