Good Morning, Darlings!
Yesterday was filled with adventure! I met one of my darling friends for a peek at a project he is working on and it is going to thrill! But I can’t share just yet. But here’s a little tease for you.
Good Morning, Darlings!
This past Saturday I received the nicest surprise from Susan over at The Frugal Hostess. Susan had some goodies she wanted to share with me as a giveaway. And not just any giveaway, either. I had a difficult time posting about these because it would mean I have to part with them. But part with them I must. I would love to give them to you!
It is an extravaganza!
Johnny, tell our friends what they could win today!
First up, we have The Best Bake Sale Ever Cookbook! by Barbara Grunes. Oh, the treasures you will discover as you traverse the depths of this book. Kansas City Oversized Cinnamon Rolls? Yes, please. Barbara even gives you tips on how to package your goodies for your neighborhood bake sale. This could not be more timely as we are holding our Blogger’s Bake Sale on April 17th in Cabbagetown. More on that later this week. Unless you are a baker and would like to contribute to the sale…then contact me here. Or just come out and give me a hug and buy some cookies. That would be good, too. All proceeds go to Share Our Strength.
Good Morning, Darlings!
I hope that your Easter was sublime. Ours certainly was. BFF Vickie came into town and that always constitutes a party. We decided on a small dinner party for eight – basically the family Eric and I have fashioned for ourselves. And since Vic had missed our fab Christmas party, we decided to go all out. Was it budget busting? Not at all. Let everyone help and you have got yourself a great time with a tiny price tag. And my special finds and money saving tips don’t hurt, either.
Good Morning, Darlings!
I’m sure you are saying, “well, duh, Ebay”…but I am enamored of this one particular seller. The name is Boston Color and their table linens are divine.
Remember the dinner with Clint, Matt and Clint’s mom? I used my new organdy tablecloth from ebay. And I’ll use it again for Easter. They even have napkins to match, which I might have to buy.
And a huge (60 x 100) tablecloth was only $14.95. With shipping the whole shebang came out to $20. That is unheard of!
Here’s a link to one of their linens. And no, this is not me, I assure you. 🙂
I was so happy with my purchase that I am going to see what else I can purchase from them. I love organdy, but it can get expensive. How do they sell so cheaply? Beats the heck out of me, but I’m glad they do!
Can’t you picture this tablecloth, gently swaying in the breeze on your table outside? Just like you are in Tuscany!
Enjoy your weekend, Darlings!
xoxo, Patti
Good Morning, Darlings!
As Easter approaches, we are getting our menu together for our Saturday night dinner. There will be fun out of town guests and our dinner will be very special indeed. I can’t give away the secrets because then our guests would know everything…and we can’t have that.
One thing I did work on today was making these awesome pom poms from Martha. Click here to see her tutorial.
How did mine turn out? Well, mine look like giant flowers. Uh, I took another look after I made 9 of them (9, y’all!) and realized that I did them all wrong. But they still look sweet.
There are so many visuals that will be happening at our table, it might be my most favorite table to date. With some of my favorite folks in the world there.
Menu? Well so far, this is where we’re at:
Dates Wrapped in Bacon
Brie en croute with Raspberry Sauce
Leg of Lamb
Leek, Artichoke, Potato Gratin (recipe here)
Asparagus
Dilled Carrots
Sweet Potato Biscuits
Apple Pie
Cake Balls (recipe over here)
Hmm, that might be enough. What do you think? Oh, and of course, copious amounts of wine and beer. I’m thinking I’ll greet each guest with a margarita to get things rolling. Especially since they have that nice, pastel green color. Goes with my color palette!
There is so much I just can’t tell you yet, but can’t wait to share with you next week. This year, why not go over the top with your decorations? I think I did!
Have a great day, my bunnies!

Good Morning, Darlings!
Spring is here in Atlanta. The dogwoods are exploding with blooms, the temps are rising and my winter clothes are all put away. What to do when your lawn is littered with a zillion yellow dandelion flowers? Make dandelion syrup, of course!
Honestly, this project started as a dare. Crystal thought this would be a great use for the umpteen flowers in my yard. You call them weeds, I call them flowers. The recipe takes two cups of petals. That’s about 365 dandelions. So out I went into the yard and faced the challenge. Then I clipped the petals of all the flowers. Crystal found a recipe online (which prompted all of this) and off I went.
Good Morning, Darlings!
The winner of our Miss Becky awesome soaps giveaway is Erin, from Atlanta! Congratulations!
Erin, please email me at Patti@Anatomyofadinnerparty.com to let me know your mailing address.
Enjoy!

Good Morning, Darlings!
I had the good fortune to attend our city’s Urban Picnic this past Friday in support of Food Trucks in Atlanta. The event was held curbside at The Sweet Auburn Curb Market, one of Atlanta’s oldest operating markets.
It was a lovely event meant to raise awareness of what we could be enjoying on a regular basis like other cities. Cities like Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago. All the major metropolises seem to possess what seems to be a daunting task here in Atlanta. But the Atlanta Street Food Coalition has taken on this task on behalf of all food lovers in our fair town.
Good Morning, Darlings!
Today’s fun find comes from sweet Christy at Peas For Prosperity. A great organization that sells not only black eyed peas to eat, but also jewelry made from these little gems that are thought to bring good luck to all us southerners on New Year’s Day.
And the packaging is cute, too!
Good Morning, Darlings!
Yesterday I was feeling like the islands, but since I can’t jump on a plane and jet down to Negril, I thought I would bring the tropics to us.
First stop, Super H. Of course. I picked out some gorgeous Jamaican Butterfish. Mainly, because I liked the color. Now, I looked online for a photo of this fish alive and just can’t seem to find one. So this gorgeous photo from Destination Jamaica will have to suffice.
