Eric and I bought a Flip camera a few weeks ago with the hopes of making some fun videos.
Cooking videos, you naughty children!! lol
I would like to share our first offering. Chef Jeffrey Gardner of South City Kitchen and Food Network’s Chopped, came by to teach me how to cook in a tajine. The tajine was sent to me by our friends at Beka.
If you are anything like me, you are very excited about the royal wedding coming up in April. I remember watching the wedding of Charles and Diana and I am no less thrilled to witness the upcoming nuptials of William and Kate.
I have decided to add another dimension to the blog and do some cooking videos. It was my extreme pleasure to welcome Chef Jeffrey Gardner from South City Kitchen to our home Sunday for some kitchen fun.
You know, a great dinner starts with great recipes. But if you can’t read the recipes, you are kind of out of luck, yes? Maybe you need some new glasses? I want designer eyeglasses and they cannot look like old lady frames.
It’s about time for me to get my eyes checked and pick a new look. Since I am now a redhead, a new pair of eyeglasses would complete my new image. I am loving these pseudo-nerdy Harry Potter’s older sister’s glasses. What do you think?
It's the sexy librarian look!
I can just picture how swanky I would look in those frames. Whoo Hoo! And they would help me read not only the small print in my cookbooks, but I would be able to read the recipes on my computer from the counter to the table in my kitchen. No more squinting, which, as we all know, contributes to wrinkles around the eyes, and who wants that? Not me and I am sure, not you, either.
To accomplish this, I believe I am going to hook up with the nice folks over at GlassesUSA.com.
If you feel like you need a new look or just need to look good, they can hook you up, too! Just click here for ordering glasses online. In fact, right now you can save 10% if you use the coupon code Mommy10 when you order your new specs. They even have designer sunglasses online! Cool!
And I can do you one better. For the month of March, you can get in on their Winter Sale and save 30% on any pair of discount eyeglasses using the code WinterSale.
xoxo, Patti
Today blogging to Johnny Nash – I Can See Clearly Now
I am so excited for spring to be here. Easter, in particular, when Eric, John and I will be hosting dinner at our house.
To get ready, I have taken large square votive holders, filled them with potting soil and grass seeds and now I wait. The grass-filled votive holders will line our dinner table, enveloping the table in fresh, green grass. But for now, I am tending to my little charges.
I have a very special treat for you today!! Our guest blogger is none other than the simply charming Mary Kay Andrews, the author of the New York Times bestselling SAVANNAH BREEZE and BLUE CHRISTMAS, (HarperCollins) as well as HISSY FIT, LITTLE BITTY LIES and SAVANNAH BLUES. She and I were discussing the state of the dinner party on Facebook after someone had posted an article saying the art was dead. She and I disagree with the article and I asked if she would like to write a little something for my blog. Mary Kay was so very kind to write this post and I am thrilled to welcome her to Anatomy of a Dinner Party. Please put your hands together for Miss Mary Kay!
Honestly, you would think I would be done celebrating my birthday by now. After all, it’s been three weeks since I turned another year older. But, no, Crystal took me out for an incredible day on Saturday and it was delicious, precious and educational. You are going to want to check this out….
Last night I helped Swoozie’s celebrate their 10th birthday and it was so much fun. Their Chastain Square store is huge and filled with anything you could ever need for a party.
This past weekend was my birthday and there were no shortages of celebrations. Friday night was The Cafe at The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, Sunday night was pizza and beer on the porch, but Saturday was most special. My sweet bestie, John, cooked a fabulous meal for 12 of us – at my house, so I never had to leave. The party just came to me. Yay!
John decided on a La Dolce Vita theme, with all Italian cuisine. It was divine. The planning started weeks in advance, with John allowing me final say on the menu. I felt so pampered. The menu was as follows:
Aperitivo
Savory Caramelized Onion Cheese Cake with Apricot Glaze
Assorted Crackers
Red Grapes
Green Grapes
Pan Seared Polenta with
Creme Fraiche
Chives
Antipasti
Pesto Insalata with Three Cheese Tortillini
Piatto Principale
Lasagne with Baby Spinach and Portobello Mushrooms
