Merry Christmas to you all. I hope Santa was very good to you. He is gifting me with the quietest morning so far, with just a light rain falling on the roof.
Last night Eric and I continued our tradition of Christmas Eve sushi at Gekko, where we dressed up and gorged on rolls, sushi and sashimi. It was divine. But first we made a stop at Green’s, where we stocked up on bubbly and beer for tonight’s dinner. It’s a small affair this year, but we are so grateful to be able to share our home with friends.
Hope you receive lots of festive aprons!
My menu is super simple and I think it would really translate well for a New Year’s Eve feast. I will share the details with you on Tuesday.
Decorate the tree…check. Buy presents…check. Watch little Ralphie beg for a Red Ryder BB gun in A Christmas Story…check! Once you have taken care of everyone else for the holiday season, treat yourself to a classic film and some festive cocktails. Paying homage to this film are some tasty libations that will be perfect for that lazy snowy afternoon in front of the TV. And in case you didn’t know, TBS will be playing the movie continually from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day.
These ramblings about the other side of the party are about as candid as you will ever see me get here. I am laying it all out for you. And sometimes, it ain’t pretty.
Yesterday we discussed things you shouldn’t be without.
Today, one thing I have to have.
Call it “One of Patti’s Favorite Things”
This.
I need this. Swoozie's are you listening?
I just think this is the greatest thing ever. No drippy ice buckets, just tidy Chardonnay bottles lining the table, all corked with assorted Corkcicles.
Friends and loved ones, are you reading?
xoxo, Patti
Today blogging to Tim Minchin – White Wine in the Sun
There are so many things to do in our fair city. Especially during the holidays. You might take in the decorated windows at 200 Peachtree or stop in at The Ritz-Carlton’s lobby bar, Lumen for a swanky cocktail.
