The Early Spoils of Spring

Written by Patti on April 20th, 2010

Good Morning, Darlings!

I love Spring, don’t you?  The days are getting warmer, everyone wants to hang out and have a drink on the porch or a cookout in the backyard.  My little garden is doing well, too.  I’ve got a few edibles and a few flowers. In the coming weeks I will plant tomatoes, more herbs and marigolds so we can have fresh tomato salads all summer long.

How about some photos?

The Most Fragrant of All Herbs - Meet Rosemary

Lets see the edibles first.  I love pesto and I adore a caprese salad. With the addition of some fresh buffalo mozzarella, I will be able to go outside soon and complete the ingredients for this summer treat.

The Oregano Is Looking Healthy!

For right now, that’s the extent of my edibles, so lets take a look at the flowers!

And the piece de resistance of my garden, my one blooming peony.  I am so thrilled by my sweet peony as I have heard that they never bloom the first year. You normally have to wait 5 years for them to produce. So I am over the moon.

Enough To Give Everyone Peony Envy

Isn’t she beautiful?

Please share with me, what are you planting this spring?

Arlynn! That sounds so lovely! How much sun does the dill need?

    Hey!

I am going to try and grow some herbs on my teeny tiny balcony. It gets full sun, so I don’t know what to put out there. Maybe rosemary?

Hey Clint! Looks like Basil, Dill and Rosemary would work great at your place!
