B.Beatty and P&P – All In One Day

Written by Patti on August 30th, 2012

Good Morning Darlings!

Yesterday was filled with fun and food. And I can’t wait to share with you!

First stop – B. Beattys in Castleberry Hill. This space is right on the corner of Nelson and Chapel and is a FIND! Now mind you, I am struggling with even sharing this gem, because it will get all crowded and I won’t be able to get a seat for the best waffles I have ever eaten.

Yes, you heard me. The BEST waffles. Ever. Anywhere. And chicken with them. You know, chicken and waffles. Wait, you have never had chicken and waffles? GASP! You are missing out my darlings! Ok, jump in your car right now and head to Castleberry Hill and order them. And the other shocker? This plate of nirvana is only $5.95. I’m fainting here…the waffles are crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, served with juicy fried chicken seasoned just right. OMG. You have to go. They also have a killer pork bbq sammie, with tasty fries and oh, well, about a million other things on the menu. Go say hi to Jimmy, the General Manager before the entire city is camped outside for these waffles. I am not joking, y’all.

If I'm Lying, I'm Dying - This is SO Good!

The Pork Sammie is No Sloucher, Either

Please, please, please, B. Beattys – stay open forever. I need you in my life.

After gobbling down a plate of the city’s best waffles, there was a swell conference call with folks from NYC, London and San Francisco. Who says work has to be boring? Then, my sweet business partner, Carrie and I met friends at Atlanta’s toniest place for drinks – Proof & Provision. Chef Zeb joined us for drinks and nibbles. Does he look familiar? He should – he just won on Chopped. Chef Zeb is gobs of fun and we just sat and ate and drank and talked food. It was the best time. P&P, as it is lovingly referred to by regulars, is in the basement of the Georgian Terrace Hotel. This is where the cast of Gone With the Wind stayed for the movie premiere. Cool, huh? Get yourself over there and try everything on the tiny menu. It’s all good. You might even get a chance to hang with Chef Zeb, and if you do, it will be a supreme treat.

Hanging with the cool kids!

The night wrapped up at the Hyatt for drinks with folks from Dragon*Con. If you are in town this weekend, the parade on Saturday at 10 a.m. is an absolute don’t miss. Filled with storm troopers, Klingons, and who knows what else, it is the biggest party of the year. Whoo Hoo! This year, Eric and I are going for all the Saturday festivities – including the 80s Zombie Dance. More on that later.

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone!!

xoxo, Patti
