Good Morning Darlings!

Yesterday we were swept away to Paris. Today, Italy!

CUCINA ASELLINA TO OPEN IN MIDTOWN ATLANTA AT “12TH & MIDTOWN”
Rustic Italian Cuisine Available Daily For Lunch and Dinner

Very chic.

Cucina Asellina, a rustic Italian dining concept, arrives at Midtown Atlanta’s “12th & Midtown” development, offering an approachable menu from Executive Chef Marco Porceddu and The ONE Group. On the heels of the highly-anticipated opening of STK Atlanta in Midtown this past December 2011, The ONE Group unveils its second concept to the Atlanta market on February 20, 2012. Featuring simple Italian dishes made from the finest ingredients, in a warm, thoughtfully designed environment, Cucina Asellina is located adjacent to the Loews Hotel and will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Inspired by the flavors and textures of rustic Italian cuisine, Cucina Asellina is reminiscent of a simple Italian kitchen. A warm, inviting atmopshere welcomes guests to enjoy a delicous meal prepared just as one would envision served at a traditional Italian family dinner table. Executive Chef Marco Porceddu, a native of Sardinia, Italy and well-known culinary veteran, has created the menu for Atlanta’s newest Italian concept. The design, from iCrave Design Studios (W Midtown, STK Atlanta), mirrors sister venue, Ristorante Asellina in New York City, with rich terra cotta walls, black metal lighting frames surrounding hightop tables, and an earthy polished concrete floor. Copper filament bulbs fill the two-story, 70-person restaurant with a warm glow, highlighting the raw white oak slats that pattern the ceiling. Intimately quartered hightop tables, bar seating and banquettes encourage guest interaction and harness the energy of the South. A 20-person outdoor patio will be ideal during warmer months for noshing, sipping and watching the hustle and bustle along Peachtree Street in the heart of Midtown.

Offering lunch options for $8 to $15 and dinner options for $12 to $30, Chef Porceddu brings elemental Italian flavors to life through inventive flatbreads made in a wood-burning oven, as well as pastas, charcuterie and cheeses. Cucina Asellina will offer an array of signature dishes including wild mushroom flatbread with fontina; old-fashioned square spaghetti with pomodora and fresh basil; and saffron strozzapreti pasta with shrimp, zucchini and brandy sauce. Featured cocktails include: the Famosa – Ketel Citron, canton, triple sec, white cranberry; the Delicata – Bombay, Lillet Blanc, St. Germain; and Italian Sangria La Bianca – Absolute Pear, lime, white cranberry juice, lemon, and Moscato D’asti.

Cucina Asellina’s address is 12th & Midtown at 1075 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30309. Lunch and dinner will be available seven days a week (dinner-only for the first month). Cucina Asellina will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. For more information visit www.togrp.com.
