Anatomy of a Dinner Party: a day in the life of a hospitalityaholic

The Dazzling Side of Etiquette

Written by Patti on September 1st, 2011

Good Morning Darlings!

Today is a very big day for me.

Today, Gilt City is introducing my new venture, Dazzling Manners, to Atlanta! You can get an amazing discount on etiquette lessons that will ready you for your next job interview or perhaps polish your manners for the upcoming holiday season?

Think of it as Anatomy of a Dinner Party – Live!

A week ago, I held my first intro class on Table Manners 101, in my home. My fabulous friend Chef Kathy of Tastefully Moore planned the menu with me and cooked the most delicious meal, and my bestie Lisa came and helped in the kitchen and served. All I had to do was talk. And eat.

And I did both – with relish. Thanks a million, Ladies!

How about some photos?

Lisa and Kathy work to make sure the evening is perfect.

The class of 12 was sold out up until a few hours prior, when some folks had something come up and couldn’t make it. No worries. We just picked up a few table settings and moved on. There ended up being 10 of us at dinner and it worked out beautifully.

I started the evening with Cocktail Party etiquette before we settled at the table for dinner.

What did we eat?

Table set and ready to go! Welcome class!

Kathy made yummy mini tarts to accompany the cocktails with capers, salami and feta.

Soup course – Tomato Pesto poured over a scoop of mango sorbet and swirled
Salad – Spring Greens with raspberries and sunflower seeds
Main – Chicken with mushrooms in sauce, rice pilaf & green beans balsamic
Dessert – Fresh Peach Cobbler

Did I take any photos of the food? No. I forgot! Sorry! But it was all fantastic.

My first class. Bless our dear Charles - the only man in the bunch.

I was a bit nervous, but then, poof! It was over. A follow up survey was sent the next day and by the responses I have received, it went very well.

So, give Dazzling Manners a try. I am happy to travel to you, or we have a few dates set up in October.

Either way, I hope to see you soon!

xoxo, Patti
