Good Morning, Darlings!
Guess who I met last night? Oh, you’ll probably never guess, so I’ll show you.
Black Tie BBQ threw one helluva party last night. And I mean one HELLUVA party.
Continuing their “Secret Supper” series, the special location was not released until after midnight on May 5 for that evening. This time the spot was Relics and Rarities in Decatur. I can’t believe I’ve never been here. This ice cream parlor/vintage car museum is across the street from Decatur HS (guess who’s incredibly busy at 3 p.m.?)
Eric and I arrived at 6 p.m. and had a chance to view the collection of vehicles. They also have all other sorts of well, Relics and Rarities, of course! Fun stuff like Spidey, the Simpsons and a giant McDonald’s milkshake and box of fries. R&R is a playground for kids of all ages.
As we explored this fun emporium, Neil and Spencer were hard at work getting dinner ready for about 80 guests.
More guests arrive and I cannot believe how many folks we know. Atlanta is such a small town for being such a big city. Shari, Josh and Elizabeth, who we met at Clint’s birthday party are all there. Mark Rox Tioxon, Shameeka Shy Ayers, Laura Scholz and Lauren Thomas with Everywhere arrive shortly.
Tables are set with chips, guacamole and three different types of salsa – traditional, salsa verde and a mango salsa. And these are just the nibbles!
The bar opens and the swift bartenders are soon dispensing sangria, margaritas and beer. Everyone starts to loosen up and before dinner we meet our Masters of Ceremonies for the evening, Russ and Brock, along with the marvelous DJ Battle of That’s Good Radio
Russ takes the mic and lets everyone know that they are expected to get out of their chairs and meet someone new. I got up and met Bobbi Oxendine (Bobbi, email me!) Bobbi is wearing the most fab shoes ever.
Bobbi, Lauren and Josh all got up to play a game naming songs and artists. Bobbi was our winner! She picked out an Amy Winehouse song in two notes flat. Amazing. If you missed, you got a shot of tequila (wait..that’s for losing?) And the party was ON.
The food was then served. An luscious assortment of tacos (shrimp, pork and skirt steak), a vegetarian quesadilla bar and a bevy of side dishes that could have easily been entrees (chicken bbq nachos, rice, spiced black beans, seasoned corn on the cob). It was all delicious. Let me share so you can drool:
When all the guests had eaten their fill (could anyone really get enough of this fantastic food?), DJ Battle cranked up the tunes and we did some serious dancing. Our tablemate and new friend, Elizabeth and I took to the floor while PYT and Flashlight played. And there was a Soul Train Line! I love Soul Train! I love Dancing! I love a Line! Uh, scratch that last one. It was so much fun.
And through it all, everyone stayed looking good. Honestly, this was the greatest looking crowd, ever. Everyone was attractive. Take a look at my friend, Joe Carlos, who I met at the last Secret Supper, with his friends Solomon and Travis (we missed you Lauren!!).
Some more shots of the guests and my newest friends.
Hope you all had as much fun as we did! Thank you so much Spencer, Neil, Allison and LaToyin – you all are the greatest!!!
xoxo, Patti

Wow! I wish I had know about this…I even saw a few familiar faces in the crowd. And what a tasty fare!! I could smell the BBQ through my screen. How do I get invited to a shindig like this? YUM!
