Good Morning, Darlings!
Yesterday was my last day with Eddie and Jaithan until they return. Although I feel a bit melancholy about their departure, I am eager to share the details of our Sunday shopping trip with you.
Approximately 30 folks gathered at Scott’s Antique Market in South Atlanta for a shopping trip led by Eddie. It was fun to see many of my new friends at the outing, including Tami Reed, Jennifer Jones and Marian Anderson. We were also gifted with the swankiest black candles from Creative Candles – love them! Eddie weaved us in and out of the most wonderful booths stocked with incredible treasures, all the while letting us in on trade secrets. It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. I am almost embarrassed to admit that Scott’s is minutes from my house and this was my first visit.
My own garnered personal treasures included an antique butter cooler and 12 lovely handstitched linen napkins. I also got a chance to meet Zena, the Linen Lady, who had the most wonderful napkins and tablecloths. I’m hoping that when I contact her this week the organdy tablecloths she had procured from the Swiss Consulate in D.C. will still be available. They would make my tablescapes look positively heavenly. More on those when they arrive.
After spending over 2+ hours with all of us at the Market, it was time to bid adieu to new friends Eddie + Jaithan, as they had a plane to catch. I love meeting new friends, and Eddie + Jaithan are so very special. When running this post over in my mind, a line from a song from Mary Poppins popped into my head, “your sweet gentility is crystal clear….” Now I know you don’t hear the word genteel bandied about much, but this was the very word I would use to describe Eddie + Jaithan. The song is called “Jolly Holiday” and if you have the time, or the inclination, to watch the video, here’s the link.
Thank you for the jolly holiday, gentlemen.
xoxo, Patti
I love me some thrift shopping and antique shopping! This was so much fun and I loved meeting your hubby too cute! Eddie and Jaithan were so fun too!
Tami, I’m not sure who you met, but it wasn’t my husband….I think you might be thinking of Jennifer and Audley! LOL – but it was a fun day, wasn’t it?
Thank you for the lovely mention. I hope the tapers “light up” your next dinner party whether it be an intimate one or elaborate affair. I so enjoyed meeting the bloggers and seeing Eddie and Jaithan in action. So disappointed I was limited to my suitcase to bring back treasures from Scott’s. Give me a shout out if ever in KC.
Pam, you are the illumination in Creative Candles! I loved meeting you and I would adore visiting KC – mmmmmm BBQ!! oxox, Patti
