Summer means several things: sunshine, beaches, carnivals and camping. Nearly 13 million people go camping every year in the U.S. alone, with the number rising 6 percent in 2010.
What? 13 MILLION people go camping? Not like staying in a cabin, but a tent? Huh, imagine that!
Families stake out for days, even weeks, in our country’s beautiful national and state parks every summer. With the heat and exhausting travel, snacks often need to be healthy, transportable and flavorful.
Do you feel the cool in the air? Just a subtle change right now that will segue into full fledged autumn weather.
The change of season invariably has me thinking of new ways to entertain. Autumn is the gateway to all those fabulous holiday parties that keep everyone busy. And with so many parties to choose from, make sure yours is the one they are still talking about next year.
Does anyone remember Mulligan’s Bar and Grill? They used to feature “Luther Burgers,” a gut buster of a burger served on a Krispy Kreme donut. Dang, those things were tasty.
Mulligan’s is long gone, so where do we go for that one dish that will single-handedly wipe out a hangover?
Don’t you still have a bit of vacation left? How about hopping on a plane and spending your vacay in Arizona? And not just any place in Arizona, but The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain.
The summer is in full swing and our neighborhood (aka “The Cruise Ship”), has set sail. This means tons of parties, cookouts and drinking on various porches and backyards of all our friends.
It is almost as much fun as Christmas, but for a longer period of time and more heat.
Last weekend, we gathered together to celebrate Rick’s birthday.
I might be stretching with the title today, because we are talking about The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans and the divine cuisine there could hardly be called grub, but I knew it would get your attention!
How about this for Dad? Does he love motorcycles? Harley Davidsons? This is for him.
Just like Peter Fonda in Five Easy Pieces!
