Bake Sale Recap!

Written by Patti on April 19th, 2010

Good Morning, Darlings!

This past Saturday was our National Bloggers Bake Sale to benefit Share Our Strength. And what a bake sale it was! Being from the south, I am used to seeing tons of bake sales – for church groups, girl scouts, schools – just about for everything.

But this bake sale was…different. It was more a gallery of desserts. Beautiful desserts. Scrumptious desserts. Desserts that belong on an elegantly arranged platter. My cookies were one thing, but the folks that baked for this brought it in style.

Most notably, Chris Arpante of Mele Cotte. Chris’s confections were incredible. Each delight was packaged in it’s own lovely box and around every corner you saw another treat you just couldn’t live without.

Lemon Drop Shots from Mele Cotte

The day needed a cashier, and I volunteered. It was so much fun! I had a chance to interact with everyone who came to visit Saturday and it was great meeting everyone! Most especially, I loved seeing all our blogger friends, old and new, out for the day. The short list:

First, our Chairperson – Tami of Running With Tweezers
Next, Bake Goddess, Chris of Mele Cotte
Adorable Mandy of Atlanta Dish
Sweet Katie of Whisk Away and her equally sweet sister, Nicole
The Ever Fashionable Ashia of Clueless Fashionista
Wonderful Wanda of The Teacher Cooks
Dear Emily Robinson of Ultra Foodie and The Poodle Revolution

There were also surprise visits from Bill Addison of Atlanta Magazine and Shameeka Shy Ayers of The Broke Socialite.

Special hellos to new friends, David, who just moved to Atlanta from Richmond, VA, to Greg and to Scott! I also loved meeting the It Girls of the day, Heather and Tierney. Loved those two! And the gorgeous Ella and her Dad, who were both too cute for words.

Lisa Hanson, owner of the Cabbagetown Market, and one of my besties and her new partner Mike did a fantastic job. Thanks so much for letting us invade the market and take over your sidewalk!

It was an amazing day and at the end, we had raised over $1600 dollars for Share Our Strength! I was awed by all the support and the level of professionalism everyone brought to the table.

If you would like to have a copy of any of these photos, just let me know and I will email you the original. You can find me at Patti@Anatomyofadinnerparty.com. My Mac is being fussy today, so I may not have all the photos up just yet. Soon, though.

Seriously, I can’t wait til next year!!

Happy Monday, my Darlings!

xoxo, Patti
