Good Morning Darlings!
Oh, how I love a good dinner party. I love every aspect of it. The planning, the menu, the cooking, and especially the guest list.
Since my friend Stephanie Johnson was in town for the Mart from Los Angeles, I thought it would be fun to have a dinner party in her honor and invite some of my stylish designer friends. And, as Steph is so well-traveled, I decided to do some fancy foods while riffing on Atlanta’s sweet country reputation. Caviar and rack of lamb paired with blue and white napkins on a bare table, save for pink tulips in Mason jars and tea lights placed in small Mason jars to set the mood.
Lovely Amy, the owner of Paperlicious, created the menu cards for the evening. Oh, I just love everything on her site! This will not be the last time Amy helps me throw a party.
Most everyone arrived by 8 p.m. and Eric & I were there to greet our guests with a glass of bubbly and a nibble of caviar. I am most embarrassed that I was so excited to see everyone that I did not photograph the food. What? But allow me to assure you, it was wonderful. We started with a caviar presentation, moved to dinner after Eric had let the rack of lamb rest, and was accompanied by stuffed baked potatoes, assorted bread and a luscious salad our darling Melanie had made just for us.
Guests included our friend Melanie, Kerry Howard, CEO of KMH Interiors, (look for him this fall on HGTV’s Design Wars), Brooke Schultz, owner of the cutest shop, Re-inspiration , my pal Stuart Spencer, who is bringing us next year’s Next Cool Thing event, which is always a ball. Rounding out the guest list was Cathryn Miller from Codaris, which hosts Steph’s shop at the Mart and Michael Loring Probst of West Third Brand, a fab brand of all kinds of things that smell divine.
Dessert was scrumptious Lemoncello Ice Cream Sandwiches from my girls over at The Cake Hag. They were gobbled up in no time flat.
Thanks to all our swell friends, old and new, that came together to fete Stephanie. We can’t wait for you to return!
xoxo, Patti
