Good Morning Darlings!
Last weekend was such fun. Eric and I got all dolled up to attend “The Next Cool Thing” here in Atlanta. The event brought together designers with furnishing vendors to create the most amazing spaces based on movies. It truly was the most!
My beloved friend Kerry Howard of KMH Interiors teamed up with Mitchell Gold and our dear friends at Larson-Juhl to furnish an alcove centered around the film, “Mommie Dearest”. It was not the biggest space, but it packed a punch. The chic sitting room boasted not only room dividers made of wooden hangers but the showpiece was an enormous chandelier made entirely of wire hangers. It was one of the most exciting ideas I have ever seen. Kerry is full of wonderful surprises and this might have been the best to date.
And the piece de resistance…
It was such a delight catching up with Kerry’s oh-so-fab assistant, Erin, too. Love her!
Eric and I settled in for a bit at the James Bond lounge, done up in high style by our lovely friends at The Foundry. With a working casino, I had a tough time dragging my adorable husband away from the tables. But we stopped playing the dice long enough to visit with Stuart Spencer, our friend and Marketing Director of The Foundry.
This was the see and be seen spot of the event. With ultra chic furnishings and dozens of crystal chandeliers, we spent a good part of the night enjoying ourselves here.
This was the perfect setting for meeting up with some other friends, too.
But there was so much more to see. Take a gander at this fabulous space created by Tracy and her staff at Redefined Home, modeled after “The Birds”.
Tracy told me she and her staff spent many evenings after work folding this flock of paper peeps. It was a stunning display.
Ok, just one more peek. I can’t wait to visit David’s store. I have a feeling it could become a problem for me…lol.
Other exhibits we enjoyed were “Dr. Who” with its police booth rising from the floor.
And check out the art deco “Psycho” space.
“Marie Antoinette” made me hungry for cupcakes. Luckily, there were some close by.
Barry and Christy loved the “Gone With The Wind” tribute.
While Kathy loved the “Auntie Mame” spot.
I loved peeking behind dark curtains and meeting the chef from RSB Catering, who was so sweet to allow me to tuck in their tiny space to take photos.
Eric really liked the cars provided by Special Day Limos over at “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”.
Who were so sweet to let Eric take a look inside their fabulous Rolls Royce.
Eric = My own Mr. Big.
Which reminds me, there was also a reimagining of Carrie Bradshaw’s closet from “Sex and The City” which was to die for.
It was a wonderful evening of fantastic surprises. A million thanks to my darling friend, Tyler, who gifted me with the tickets to the gala. Smooches, Tyler!
xoxo, Patti

Hi Stuart – My husband did not want to leave your lounge. It was the most fabulous lounge ever. And with all the men in tuxedos, it just added to the allure! Everything The Foundry does impresses in a big way! xoxo, Patti

Cool Dr Who TARDIS (police booth) exhibit … but what does it do exactly?
Not sure, Colin. But it sure looks cool, doesn’t it? P
