Good Morning Darlings!
My sweet friends at Bookswim have agreed to give away a three month membership to one of my darlings! I am not kidding, I am loving this service and wondering what I ever did without it. You pickĀ books, they send them, you enjoy them and send them back with the pre-paid label. It honestly could not be easier. I am reading more now than ever.
Right now I am on a fashion kick. I just read Clinton Kelly’s book Freaking Fabulous and am now finishing Tim Gunn’s style tome. Don’t you love those two? Clinton and Tim? They are the best!
All you have to do is leave a comment about your favorite book. And since I want you to get started with your membership, I won’t make you wait, either. I will announce the winner on Tuesday!
The weather couldn’t be more perfect right now for curling up with the book of your choice.
So tell me – what is your favorite book?
xoxo, Patti
Today blogging to Florence and the Machine – Swimming
Being home with mom, I read alot and don’t really have a favorite book, but any type of Historical Romance can usually be found in my hand when I’m relaxing. The settings for the stories are so far from our current reality that they are easy to get lost in – I especially like the stories set in England and Scotland. I think I dream sometimes with a British accent or Scottish Brogue!
Lucille – how fabulous! Thanks for commenting! xoxo, P
My favourite book is usually the book I’m reading right now.
That said, I just got a “Pod” full of books from the barn in Vermont and unearthed “Birds, Beasts and Relatives” by Gerald Durrell. From age 9-13 I swore I would travel to England and marry him. Sadly he died before I could accomplish my mission. But I truly felt he was my soul-mate when I was curled up on the sleeping porch at my grandmother’s house with nothing but a flashlight to read by…
Just finished Jenny McCarthys new book. Very very racey but still fun to hear about things in her life. (she wont talk about her and Jim Carrey-bummer!)She is so funny. And Chelsea Handler is her BFF. Can you imagine the fun those 2 have? Bookswim sounds really cool! A library that comes to your door!
There is no way I can pick just one favorite, but I am enjoying Sizzling Sixteen right now =) It is also the BEST conversation starter, I usually take a book with me when I eat out alone and I have had about 5 people come up to me to talk about Stephanie Plum so far and I am only about 50 pages in.
Lisa, I love the thought of little you with your books! xoxo, P
Becky! Can’t wait for next month for the new HP movie to come out! xoxo, P
Chris – it would be crazy with those two! Kind of like you and I in Chicago! xoxo, P
Emily – oooh! that sounds good! xoxo, P
My favorite book ever is The Da Vinci Code. But the movie was horrible.
For surface humor; I got a sneeky peaky of Amy Sedaris’ book titled, ‘Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People’….Amy is a hoot!
Love, Love this book!
For seriousness & depth; anything by Jose Saramago, thought provoking twist & turns, double entendres, and every character that I imagine lingers long after I’ve finished each book. Blindness & All the People, beautiful!
Quinn, that is a good one! xoxo, P
Melanie – Amy Sedaris is awesome. I have her hostess book. In fact, I gave it to all my girls a few holidays ago. Hilarious! xoox, P
