Good Morning, Darlings!
Oh how I love my friends – the diversity among us is riveting and our differences make for the very best get togethers. After all, if we were all the same, it would be dull as dirt, yes?
And this weekend was Pride. What better excuse for a fabulous party than Pride? None, that’s what. So I got together all my favorites and threw a dessert dance party on Thursday as a mini kickoff to the Pride activities. A wonderful time was had by all.
This was also the party I swore I could do for $100. How did I do?
The theme was desserts, so I whipped up some chocolate chip cookies, some everything cookies (both the giant variety), baked and frosted 36 cupcakes and fashioned a candy bar for nibbling. I purchased 6 bottles of my favorite cava, Segura Vida, at $6.50 per bottle, to start the party with bubbles.
Totals: Cava – $42.00
Groceries – $88.00
Camp for Karen – $35.00
(always in my party budget – will probably not apply to your budget)
Grand Total: $165.00 ($130, if you don’t count Karen’s doggie camp)
So not too bad. Especially considering that I had 35 RSVPs and 50 showed up. But some of my darlings showed up with most divine treats. Maria, as a matter of fact, brought the most gorgeous basket of cake balls you have ever seen (and it miraculously was decorated in tandem with all my colors!). Love you, Maria! My bestie, Lisa, donated all the candy, so that took a chunk of expense off of me, too. Lisa, you are the greatest!
But the true heart of the party were my fantastic friends. I know you are dying to see the photos!
John picked all the music for the night and was our marvelous DJ. Thanks, John!
Tiffany mentioned the next day, how no one knew each other well, so they were forced to socialize immediately. I thought about this and realized I did have lots of different circles of friends there. How did they all get on? Like peas and carrots. Love my friends!
Oh, see the backward “Z” on Zack’s cup? I bought a bundle of stick on letters so folks could keep track of their beverages. There were shiny gold letters and sparkly pink letters. Festive and cheap!
…but somehow never got around to it…..
What a fun night. I was so thrilled to kick off Pride with my little soiree. Thanks to everyone that came, laughed, drank, sang and especially those who danced.
I love you all. We will do it all again next year!
xoxo, Patti
Today blogging to Cher – Believe
Such a fantastic party! Thank You!
Your cookies were delicious and those Cake Pops…..off the charts.
That photo did not do your table justice – it was stunning! The next time Eddie Ross comes to your house it may be to shoot one of your amazing table settings.
Have a great week!
You are too, sweet, Christy!! Thanks so much! xoxo, P
The event title was hilarious to me! Great shindig on a dime. Sometimes these are better than the parties we spend a fortune on!
Looks like it was Fabulous! Sorry I had to miss it!
