Anatomy of a Dinner Party: a day in the life of a hospitalityaholic

Soup, Peas & Peace With Christy

Written by Patti on June 1st, 2010

Good Morning, Darlings!

I trust that everyone had a marvelous Memorial Day weekend, yes?

My weekend kicked off with a Friday lunch date with my sweet friend, Christy Annis, the mastermind behind Peas for Prosperity, an organization aimed at helping the disadvantaged.  Christy just glows with love for what she is accomplishing and it overflows into every aspect of her life.  I am humbled and delighted to call her a friend.

But first, lunch.  We chose Noon for their central location and healthy fare.

Noon at Noon on Friday

I chose the carrot & ginger soup and house salad and Christy ordered the tomato basil soup. The decor here is simple, but comfy. Perfect for a girls’ lunch out.

And as friends who rarely get a chance to visit, we gabbed. And gabbed. And gabbed some more.  So much catching up to do! Christy started PFP in October with nothing but a dream and today she is making substantial contributions to Samaritan House of Atlanta with her Peas to Paychecks program. If only we all could do a fraction of the amazing work she is doing – the world would have no problems!

Glowing Christy, CEO of Peas for Prosperity

When I admired her necklace, she told me she had designed it and made it herself. The jewelry is made from newspaper and peas! Not only is Christy philanthropic, but incredibly eco-friendly, too! And check out the others she has created. The necklace on the left is adorable, with a Gone With The Wind theme. Scarlett O’Hara would have loved this jewelry – it is labeled Southern Belle!

Too Cute!! I Have Got to Grab Up The GWTW Necklace!

Take a look at Christy’s website and see if you don’t agree that she is changing the world, one pea at a time.

Today blogging to The Eagles – The Greeks Don’t Want No Freaks (this is the only version I could find, but it made me smile!)
