FFF-Magnificent Milagro Tequila

Written by Patti on August 26th, 2011

Good Morning Darlings!

With the official sayonara to summer just around the corner, Milagro Tequila – handcrafted in small batches from 100% estate grown blue agave in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico – has some summer cocktail recipes perfect for your Labor Day barbeque.

It’s Friday! That means cocktail time! Whoo Hoo! It’s Milagro Tequila Time Y’all!!

All you need for a perfect party. Well, you need a few mixers, too.

For lighter summertime fare, the Freshest Margarita – made fresh lime juice and agave syrup – lives up to its name. You will surely be ashamed to even glance at a bottle of Margarita mix! Easy to make and great for a group, it can pre-batched and served as a punch so guests can help themselves. For some spice, add muddled jalapeno and cilantro into this classic recipe for an unexpected bite and elevated flavor profile.

This will be mine at 5 p.m. EST!

Mercadito (Freshest Margarita with Jalapeno and Cilantro)

1.5 Oz Milagro Silver
.50 Oz Green Chartreuse
1 Oz Lime Juice
.75 Agave Nectar
4 Cucumber Slices
1 Pinch of Cilantro
1 Jalapeno Slice
2 Dashes Celery Bitters

Muddle, shake and strain over fresh ice in Rocks glass. Garnish with a cucumber wheel.

For an adult take on a classic childhood favorite, Milagro Tequila has come up with a clever way of turning your favorite tequila cocktail into an indulgent snow cone – or “raspado”. The Berry Explosive, made with raspberries and blueberries, provides a delectable fruity complement to their reposado’s agave-forward taste and transports you poolside, regardless of your location.

Now, that's a snow cone!

Berry Explosive Raspado

2 Oz Milagro Silver
1 Oz Lime Juice
.75 Oz Agave Nectar
4 Raspberries
6 Blueberries
2 Mint Leaves
3 Dashes Peach Bitters

Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth, and pour over crushed or shaved ice. Top with raspberries and blueberries.

Finally, for a more laborious cocktail (but one well worth the work), the Vercruzana de Acapulco gives blended drinks another level of sophistication. An unforgettable mix of our reposado with Snap, lime juice, basil leaves, ginger beer and angostura bitters served up in a hallowed out pineapple is perfect to batch up poolside to keep them coming until long after the sun goes down. And you know I adore anything with ginger beer – hereby declared the preferred mixer of 2011!

Do you want to kick it old school? How about a classic Margarita recipe that can be put together in no time flat. For those that need their Milagro Cocktail, right now!

Freshest Margarita

2 Oz Milagro Silver
1 Oz Lime Juice
.75 Oz Agave Nectar

Shake and serve over fresh ice in Rocks glass and garnish with a half rim of salt and lime wheel.

It’s 5 o’clock, somewhere, my sweeties!

xoxo, Patti

Ok, what is (and where would one find) green chartreuse and celery bitters?
    Great drink ideas, thanks!
