Anatomy of a Dinner Party: a day in the life of a hospitalityaholic

The Chic Boutique Tour

Written by Patti on December 23rd, 2010

Good Morning Darlings!

Like most women, I love to shop. But I tend to go to the same places again and again and then say I can’t find anything.

Have I got just the thing for you! The Chic Boutique Tour is the brainchild of the adorable and fashionable Rosalynn Wilson, who invited me to come along this past weekend as we toured a bevy of boutiques. In style. As in a luxury coach where we were served nibbles and libations as we moved from shop to shop with ease. It is something I could get very used to.

The way to travel...

We met up at The Pampered Nail Spa in Castleberry where we all got a chance to visit before we boarded the coach. And like all good students, I sat in front where I was rewarded with being seated next to the tour’s stylist, Kaira Akita, CEO of A Clothes Encounter (don’t you just love that name?) Kaira and I started talking and realize we had a few friends in common. A natural occurrence in Atlanta. This happens everywhere I go.

Beautiful Rosalynn outlines the day for us.

First stop on our tour was Plush, a boutique for women of curves. I can appreciate that.

And I loved the decor inside. Wendy has got herself a precious shopping refuge here in Castleberry.

Loved all the pretty touches.

And the whimsical touches, too.

One down, plenty more to go. Next stop, everyone’s favorite – shoes. Off to Off Broadway Shoes in our magical shopping coach. Shoes!!!

Shoes!!! Charge!

I must admit, I bought myself a gorgeous pair of red slingbacks to wear on New Year’s Eve. They are so precious and sexy, if I do say so myself. Will do the big reveal on New Year’s Day. Or a bit after. Depends on how much bubbly is being poured.

Anyhoo, I was not the only shoe lover in the group. Take a look.

The lure of the shoe.

Shoes procured, we were on our way to Coposhi, owned by sweet Russell. Coposhi means “sexy, cool style” from a phrase from the 197os. This chic outpost in Buckhead was filled with two stories of fabulous fashion. Although the styles are best suited for the fairly slim. That would not be me. But we had lots of fun snapping photos on the landing.

New friend Leticia.

Next up, Merino in Buckhead, by Lenox Mall. Our bus driver must have had nerves of steel, she was so calm and fabulous in the insane traffic. She took care of everything while Rosalynn announced giveaways and we all watched This Christmas on the coach’s dvd players. I mean – Rosalynn thought of everything! The coach even had powder rooms. Did I say I could get used to this? I think I did.

This shop was a bit too rich for my pocketbook. But I really loved some of these purses. I asked our stylist Kaira to model them for me.

Loved this one. Like a frilly dress.

But I really coveted this next one. Good golly I thought this was adorable.

At the same shopping plaza, we moved over to Fab’rik, a popular boutique in town that I had never visited. Every piece in this shop was less than $100. I fell in love with a clutch adorned with silk roses, priced at $44.00. But alas, I waited too long and the bus was leaving. So if anyone goes to Fab’rik and is looking for the perfect gift for Patti, that clutch is just the thing. Really, don’t be shy.

Fashions of Fab'rik.

Last stop – Wine Shoe and a quick hello to my friend and owner, Nora. The Wine Shoe is always a fun time, made even more so by bubbly Nora.

Wine Shoe.

Cute Nora, our hostess.

This was a very full day of very fun shopping. Rosalynn has some other Chic Boutique tours happening all around the country this year, with the next Atlanta tour in April. So y0u have plenty of time to save up. A ticket to the tour would make the nicest Christmas gift for your special girlfriends, too. Gives you all something fabulous to look forward to.

Many thanks the wonderful Rosalynn Wilson and the Chic Boutique Tour. You must go.

xoxo, Patti
